Utah State 3, Fresno State 0
Shay Sorensen  recorded a match-high 12 kills to lead Utah State to a three-set win (25-19, 25-17, 25-14) over Fresno State in its WAC home opener here Thursday. With the win, Utah State improves to 13-2 overall and 1-1 in WAC play. Fresno State falls to 6-8 on the season and 1-2 in league play with the loss.

Utah State out-hit Fresno State .345 to .073 on the match. The Aggies also had 11 more digs (42-31), four more service aces (7-3) and three more team blocks (8-5) in the match, while the Bulldogs had three fewer service errors (8-5).

Sorensen added three blocks for Utah State and hit a career-high .526, while Liz McArthur added 10 kills.

Brianna Clarke had eight kills and hit .800 (8-0-10) to lead Fresno State.


Nevada 3, San Jose State 0

The Wolf Pack swept past San Jose State 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 in WAC action Thursday night at the Virginia Street Gym, snapping a five-match losing skid. With the victory, Nevada improves to 7-8 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Spartans drop to 6-10 overall and 1-2 in WAC play.

Nevada hit .295 in the match and held SJSU to a .146 attack percentage.  The Pack totaled 4.5 blocks and the Spartans had three. 

Kylie Harrington led the Wolf Pack with a match-high 15 kills while Tatiana Santiago had a match-high with 31 assists.  Libero Nicole Link tallied 10 digs on the night.

Brianna Amian topped SJSU with eight kills and setter Caitlin Andrade had 17 assists.  Libero Katie Turner finished with a match-high 13 digs.
