Oct. 16 WAC Volleyball Recaps

New Mexico State 3, Idaho 2
The Aggies rallied from down two sets to defeat Idaho 3-2 (16-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-16, 15-8) in WAC volleyball action Saturday night. With the win, NM State improves to 12-9 overall and 6-1 in WAC play. The Vandals fall to 10-10 on the year and 5-4 in the conference.

NM State out-hit Idaho .222 to .199 on the match. The Aggies also edged the Vandals in kills (61-59), assists (59-54), digs (66-60) and blocks (12-9.5).

Kayleigh Giddens led a group of four Aggies in double-digit kills with 18 to go with 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. Whitney Woods added 12, while Kelsey Brennan and Rocio Gutierrez had 11 apiece.

Allison Walker paced the Vandals with 18 kills and 11 digs.


Boise State 3, Louisiana Tech 0
The Broncos swept past host Louisiana Tech 25-17, 25-21, 25-19 Saturday night. With the win, Boise State improves to 17-6 on the season and 4-4 in WAC play. The Lady Techsters drop to 10-12 overall and 0-7 in conference play.

Boise State out-hit LA Tech .273 to .070 on the night and out-blocked the Techsters 9-2.

Alisha Young led the Broncos with 12 kills, while Cailin Fellows added 10.

Kara Jones paced the Techsters with 10 kills.
