No. 4 Hawai‘i swept Fresno State 25-18, 25-18, 25-17 in front of a crowd of 5,769 at the Stan Sheriff Center Sunday, marking Hawai'i's 31st consecutive victory against a WAC opponent. With the win, the Rainbow Wahine remain the only undefeated team in WAC play at 6-0 and improve to 16-1 on the season. The Bulldogs drop to 7-11 on the season and 2-5 in the WAC.
Hawai'i hit .286 on the match, compared to the .102 of Fresno State. The Rainbow Wahine also had more kills (43-25), assists (41-24), service aces (7-2), digs (42-41) and blocks (10.5-3).
Kanani Danielson led the Rainbow Wahine, posting 13 kills, 12 digs and three aces. Chanteal Satele hit .364 with 11 kills.
Marissa Brand led the Bulldogs with seven kills and Brianna Clarke added six. Kelly Mason recorded a match-high 16 digs.
New Mexico State 3, Nevada 0
New Mexico State swept Nevada 28-26, 27-25, 25-20 in the Pan American Center Sunday. With the win, the Aggies improve to 13-9 on the year and 7-1 in WAC play. Nevada falls to 10-10 overall and 4-3 in the conference.
The Aggies out-hit the Wolf Pack .248 to .161 on the night. NM State also had more kills (51-41), assists (48-37) and digs (42-37), but Nevada won the blocking battle, 8-5.
Kayleigh Giddens posted a match-high 17 kills to pace the Aggies, while Rocio Gutierrez finished with 10 kills and Kelsey Brennan added nine kills on .429 hitting.
Erin Garvey and Kylie Harrington led Nevada with 11 kills apiece.
