MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho hosts Hawai‘i in a nationally-televised WAC volleyball match on ESPNU at 8 p.m. (PT) this Thursday, Oct. 21. It is the third of five WAC volleyball matches to air on the network this season.
The Vandals (10-10, 5-4) are led by senior Kelsey Taylor who ranks 23rd nationally in blocks, averaging 1.31 per game. Taylor also leads the team with a .284 hitting percentage on the season and has totaled 142 kills and 97 blocks on the season. Redshirt-freshman Allison Walker leads the Vandals with 3.86 kills per game on the season, and is hitting .223.
Hawai‘i (16-1, 6-0) enters the match at No. 4 in the AVCA Top-25 with a 16-1 record and a 6-0 mark in WAC play. Hawai'i owns a 31-match WAC winning streak, dating back to 2008. . Hawai'i outsider hitter Kanani Danielson is the reigning WAC Player of the Week, and ranks second in the league with 4.54 kills per game. UH middle blocker Brittany Hewitt is second in the WAC with a .364 hitting percentage. Hewitt also leads the nation with 1.79 blocks per game.
