Utah State setter Chelsea Fowles  recorded 47 assists in a 3-1 (25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17) win over Idaho at Memorial Gym Wednesday night to become the school's all-time leader with 3,948 assists.

In a match that was televised nationally on ESPNU, Fowles broke the previous record held by Carrie Steverson (1988-91), who had 3,942 career assists. She added eight kills on .583 hitting and five blocks.

Utah State, which had lost four straight road matches against Idaho, improves to 14-3 on the season and 2-2 in the WAC with the win. Idaho falls to 8-9 on the season, including a 3-3 WAC record.

Utah State finished the match with a .347 hitting percentage, while Idaho hit .256. USU also had seven more team blocks (15-8) and six more service aces (7-1) in the match, while Idaho had three more digs (40-37) and three fewer service errors (6-3).

Liz McArthur led Utah State with 20 kills, nine digs and three service aces, while Shay Sorensen had 13 kills and Josselyn White added 11 kills. Shantell Durrant paced USU with eight block assists.

Allison Walker had 18 kills and Alicia Milo finished with 17 kills for Idaho, while Kelsey Taylor had 12 kills and hit .579 in the match.
