Kansas City, Kan.--Five WAC soccer players were selected to the 2010 All-West Regional team, announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
San Jose State's Jessica Ingram and Idaho's Chelsea Small earned second-team honors, while Utah State's Natalie Norris, Idaho's Jill Flockhart and San Jose State's Kelsey Lord earned third team recognition.
Small, from Solana Beach, Calif., was named 2010 WAC Offensive Player of the Year this season and is a two-time first-team All-WAC honoree. She finished the season ranked 20th in the NCAA in total goals and also tied the WAC record for conference-season shots (58). She led Idaho to a school-record 14 wins and program-best third-place finish in the WAC.
Flockhart, a midfielder from Salmon Arm, B.C., started all 21 games for Idaho this season. She recorded a pair of goals, four assists and eight combined points. Flockhart was named to this year's all-WAC first team.
In her third season with the Spartans, Ingram, from San Jose, is highly decorated, earning WAC Defensive Player of the Year (2009), and becoming a two-time first team All-WAC honoree. She anchored a defense that went undefeated at home in WAC play this season.
Lord, a sophomore from Livermore, Calif., earned first team All-WAC this season. She led the team this year in points (29), knocking in nine goals and with a conference-best 11 assists.
Norris, who earned her first career all-WAC honor, was also named the WAC's Defensive Player of the Year. She is the second-straight Aggie to earn a postseason award as Flanary earned WAC Offensive Player of the Year honors last season. Norris also earned her first WAC all-tournament team honor along with junior midfielder Chandra Salmon.
