Utah State 67, Louisiana Tech 61

LOGAN, Utah (AP)-- Tai Wesley scored 16 points and Pooh Williams 15, all in the second half, to push Utah State past Louisiana Tech 67-61 Wednesday night.

Jared Quayle added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies (21-6, 11-2 Western Athletic Conference), and Nate Bendall had 11 points, including a critical putback after a missed free throw with 30 seconds remaining.

Magnum Rolle led the Bulldogs (20-6, 8-4) with 15 points and seven rebounds. DeAndre Brown and Kyle Gibson each added 14 points.

There were six lead changes and three ties in the second half after Louisiana Tech took its first advantage, 37-36 with 16:10 to play. The Bulldogs led by as many as three before Williams scored nine consecutive points for Utah State to give the Aggies a 54-52 lead with 4:09 to play.

Bendall had a dunk, a putback and a free throw in the final 90 seconds to seal the win.



Nevada 74, Fresno State 70

RENO, Nev. (AP)-- Luke Babbitt scored 27 points and Armon Johnson had 19 to lead Nevada past Fresno State 74-70 on Wednesday night.

Babbitt hit two free throws with 8.7 seconds left to seal the victory for the Wolf Pack (16-9, 8-4 Western Athletic Conference).

Paul George scored 26 points and Sylvester Seay 22 for the Bulldogs (13-14, 6-7).

A layup by Fresno State's Mike Ladd tied the game 66-66 with 5:40 to play. Babbitt then hit two free throws with 4:45 to go and two more with 4:01 to play to give Nevada a 70-66 lead. Both fouls were on Seay, fouling out the 6-foot-10 senior.

Seay scored 18 points and George had 12 as Fresno State took a 43-37 halftime lead.



Boise State 81, Cal State Bakersfield 62

BOISE, Idaho (AP)-- Anthony Thomas scored 15 points and Robert Arnold added 14 to lead Boise State to an 81-62 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday night.

Boise State (12-14), which snapped a three-game losing streak, raced out to an 18-4 lead.

After trailing 38-25 at halftime, Bakersfield (7-19) closed the deficit to 43-38 with 14:30 remaining. Boise State responded with an 18-2 run over the next four minutes to put the game out of reach.

The Broncos made a season-high 12 three-pointers and shot a season-high 57 percent from the floor.

Justin Salzwedel and Paul Noonan each contributed 12 points for the Broncos, while Ike Okoye added 11.

Stephon Carter led the Roadrunners with 18 points and six rebounds. Santwon Latunde added 12 points.
