Utah State 61, Hawaii 50
HONOLULU (AP)-- Jared Quayle scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Pooh Williams added 12 points to lead Utah State to a 61-50 victory over Hawaii on Thursday night.
The Aggies (23-6, 12-2 Western Athletic Conference) won their 13th straight game, while the Rainbow Warriors (9-18, 2-11) dropped their ninth in a row.
Hawaii's last lead came late in the first half at 17-16, but Tai Wesley's two free throws gave Utah State the lead for good with 5:34 until intermission. The Aggies used a 10-run in the closing minutes to take 25-17 lead at halftime.
Utah State took its largest lead at 59-44 with 48 seconds left after Williams made an easy transition layup.
Hiram Thompson led Hawaii with 13 points. Hawaii was 6 of 12 on 3-pointers but just 8 of 16 from the free throw line. Utah State shot 43.8 percent (21 of 48) from the field.
Boise State 72, Louisiana Tech 59
RUSTON, La. (AP)-- Paul Noonan scored 14 points and made four 3-pointers to lead Boise State to a 72-59 victory over Louisiana Tech on Thursday night.
Ike Okoye added 12 points for the Broncos (13-15, 3-10 Western Athletic Conference), who had lost four of their last five coming into the game.
Boise State was 8-for-18 from 3-point range (44.4 percent).
The Broncos took a seven-point lead in the first half, but the Bulldogs used a 7-0 run to pull even with 3:14 left and the game was tied at 37 at the break.
Louisiana Tech took a 45-39 advantage with 15:13 left, then Boise State used a 16-0 run to lead 55-45 with 9:47 to go. The Bulldogs could get no closer than seven after that.
Jamel Guyton scored 13 points and Olu Ashaolu had 11 for Louisiana Tech. Magnum Rolle, the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer averaging 14.8 points per game, was held to six points, but had 10 rebounds.
Nevada 83, San Jose State 79
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP)-- Brandon Fields scored 23 points and Luke Babbitt added 21 as Nevada defeated San Jose State 83-79 Thursday night.
Adrian Oliver had his second straight 35-point game for the Spartans. It was second time this season that Oliver has had back-to-back 30 point games.
Oliver leads the Western Athletic Conference in scoring with a 23.3-point average. It was his eighth 30-point game of the season.
San Jose State (13-14, 5-8) grabbed a 78-76 lead with just 2:13 left on Oliver's jump shot but Nevada (17-10, 9-4) went ahead with 1:14 remaining on Joey Shaw's 3-pointer. The Wolf Pack scored seven of the game's final eight points.
Armon Johnson added 18 points for Nevada.
It was Nevada's sixth straight win against San Jose State. The win was the Wolf Pack's fourth on the road this season.
Babbitt is second in the conference with a 21.6-point average.
