Fresno State 95, Boise State 72
Jaleesa Ross became the Fresno State all-time leader in three-pointers as Fresno State cruised to a 95-72 road win at Boise State on Saturday evening.
The Bulldogs have now tied the school record for most wins in a season as they are 24-5 overall and 15-0 in WAC play. The Broncos fall to 17-11 on the year and 6-8 in the conference.
Fresno State shot 49 percent from the field, compared to the 42 percent of Boise State. The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Broncos 39-37. The Bulldog defense forced 22 Bronco turnovers.
Emma Andrews led four Bulldogs in double figures as she had a game-high 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field. She also was a perfect 5-for-5 from the 3-point line. Joh-Teena Filipe had 14 points, Ross 13 and Hayley Munro 11 points.
Julia Marshall led Boise State with 15 points, followed by Lauren Lenhardt with 14.
Louisiana Tech 69, Nevada 56
Shanavia Dowdell scored 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded three blocks to power Louisiana Tech to a 69-56 win over Nevada before 2,034 fans at the Thomas Assembly Center Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, Tech (19-7, 10-4) took sole possession of second place in the WAC standings while Nevada (15-13, 9-5) fell to third place. Both teams still have two regular-season games remaining.
Tech shot 46 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range and 68 percent from the free throw line on the game. Nevada shot 36 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc and 61 percent from the line. The Lady Techsters edged the Wolf Pack on the boards, 35-34.
Dowdell recorded her 19th double-double of the year (tied for the most in the nation), including her 12th straight and the 43rd of her career, tying former Kodak All-American Janice Lawrence for fifth place in the LA Tech record books.
Tahnee Robinson led Nevada with 17 points, 14 coming in the first half. Nicole Williams added 11 points.
Idaho 54, Utah State 53
Rachelle Kloke hit a three-pointer to lead Idaho to a 54-53 win at Utah State Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Vandals improve to 9-18 on the year and 7-7 in WAC play. Utah State drops to 12-15 overall and 4-10 in the conference.
Idaho shot 29 percent from the field, 23 percent from three-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Aggies connected on 37 percent from the field, 33 percent from downtown and 100 percent form the charity stripe. USU out-rebounded Idaho 42-40.
Kloke led all players with 28 points.
Utah State was paced by Alice Coddington with 14 points, followed by Banna Diop with 12.
