Fresno State 78, Hawai'i 69
Fresno State won a school record 10th straight game and beat Hawai'i 78-69 at the Stan Sheriff Center on Saturday evening in front of 1,643 fans.

The Bulldogs are now 18-5 overall and 9-0 in the WAC, while the Rainbow Wahine drop to 9-13 on the and 3-6 in conference play.

Fresno State shot 41 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range and 76 percent from the free throw line game. Hawai'i connected on 46 percent from the field, 33 percent from long range and 76 percent from the charity stripe. The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Rainbow Wahine 34-29 and forced 23 Hawai'i turnovers.

Hayley Munro led the Bulldogs with a game-high 24 points and eight rebounds, and Jaleesa Ross had 22 points, five rebounds and a career-best seven steals in the victory.

Ross' 22 points moved her into seventh place on the schools' all-time scoring list as she now has 1,279 points.

Leilani Galdones scored a career-high 20 points, including 15 in the second half, to lead UH in scoring. Keisha Kanekoa added 14 points and eight assists, and Breanna Arbuckle had 11 points and five rebounds.


New Mexico State 85, Boise State 76
Down by 10 points with 14:54 remaining, New Mexico State used a 17-6 run to take the lead and went on to an 85-76 win over Boise State Saturday at the Pan American Center.

With the win, the Aggies improve to15-8 on the year and 5-4 in WAC play, while Boise State falls to 14-9 overall and 3-6 in the WAC.

The Aggies shot 46 percent (30-of-65) from the field, 39 percent (10-of-26) from three-point range and 71 percent (15-of-21) from the free throw line on the game. The Broncos connected on 39 percent (25-of-65) from the field, 30 percent (6-of-20) from downtown and 74 percent (20-of-27) from the charity stripe. Boise State out-rebounded NM State 45-40, but turned the ball over 18 times, compared to the 13 of the Aggies.

Jasmine Lowe led NM State with 23 points, followed by Danisha Corbett with 18 points. Crystal Boyd added 15 points.

Boise State was led by Melissa Rima with 24 points and 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season and second of her career. Tasha Harris added 17 points and Janie Bos was just shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.


Louisiana Tech 74, Utah State 52
Louisiana Tech avenged an earlier loss this season to Utah State by defeating the Aggies 74-52 Saturday afternoon at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

With the win, Louisiana Tech improved to 15-6 overall and 6-3 in conference action. The loss was USU's second in a row and sixth in the last seven games, and the Aggies now have an even 11-11 overall record, dropping to 3-6 in WAC play. 

The Lady Techsters shot 40 percent (25-of-63) from the floor, 50 percent from three-point range (7-of-14) and 71 percent (17-of-24) at the charity stripe. USU was 19-of-59 (32 percent) from the field, 4-of-19 (21 percent) from three-point range and 11-of-15 (73 percent) at the free throw line. The Techsters dominated the boards, 56-36.

LTU had four players in double-figures, including two with double-doubles as Adrienne Johnson registered 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Shanavia Dowdell tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Brietta Thomas tossed in 12 points and Whitney Jones added 11.

LaCale Pringle-Buchanan netted a game-high 17 points, while Amber White was the only other Aggie in double-figures, notching 10 points.


Nevada 72, San Jose State 48

Shavon Moore and Kayla Williams each recorded double-doubles as Nevada defeated San Jose State 72-48 Saturday afternoon in front of a season-high 1,572 fans at Lawlor Events Center.

With the win Nevada improves to 13-10 overall and 7-2 in WAC play, while the Spartans fall to 5-17 overall and 1-8 in the WAC.

As a team, the Pack shot 45 percent (24-of-53) from the floor, while the Spartans shot 27 percent (17-of-64). Nevada recorded 14 turnovers in the game and just two turnovers in the second half. The Pack also recorded a season-high 10 blocks.

Moore ended the game with 15 points and 10 rebounds for her ninth career double-double and fourth this year. Williams scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds for her fourth career double-double.

Chasity Shavers led San Jose State with 15 points, while Shaunna Ridge pulled down 10 boards.
