Boise State women’s basketball players Tasha Harris and Jessica Van Hoogen have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Harris was named to the District 8 first team, which makes her eligible for Academic All-America honors, while Van Hoogen was named to the second team.

This marks the second time in Harris’ career that she has been named to the district team, making the third team in 2008. The Longmont, Colo., native is a three-time Academic all-WAC honoree who has already earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in athletic administration, and is currently working on a master’s in communication. She finished her undergraduate work with a 3.6 grade-point average and has a 3.68 graduate GPA.

Van Hoogen, a Temecula, Calif., native, is a three-time Academic all-WAC honoree who has earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and is currently working on a master’s in athletic administration. She finished her undergraduate degree with a 3.33 GPA and has a 4.00 GPA in graduate school.

In order to be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
