DENVER – Louisiana Tech’s Chasidee Lewis-Baker and Hawai‘i’s TeRina Keenan have been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of March 15-21.
Lewis-Baker, a junior from Alexandria, La. (Alexandria HS), won the 100-meter dash at the Jim Mize Invitational on Saturday with a time of 11.84 seconds. Lewis-Baker is the only WAC athlete to run a sub-12.00 time in the conference so far this year. Lewis-Baker also ran the opening leg of the 4x100m relay team that won at the Jim Mize Invitational with a time of 46.24, a mark that stands about a second and a half ahead of any other WAC relay team.
Keenan, a sophomore from So. Auckland, New Zealand (Mt. Albert Grammar School), captured the discus title at the USC Trojan Invitational over the weekend with a huge personal-best throw of 51.69 meters (169 feet, 7 inches).
