DENVER - Nevada's Taylor Coffman and Lauren Hernandez have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for April 5-11.

Coffman, a senior from San Diego, Calif. (St. Augustine HS), finished in a tie for seventh to lead Nevada at the Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz., last week. Coffman opened with a tournament-low round of 65 to take the early lead in the 24-team field. He followed that up with a 76 and finished the tournament with a 71 in the final round to finish at two-over par (65-76-71-212), his top finish of the season. Coffman's score was the best of any of the 20 WAC golfers competing in the tournament which included teams from Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State.

Hernandez, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev. (Bishop Gorman HS), tied for third place at last week's Cowgirl Classic in Chandler, Ariz., April 5-6. Hernandez started the final round in ninth place before carding a career-low two-under par 70 to help lead Nevada to a fourth place finish in the tournament. Hernandez finished her three rounds at three-over par, three strokes back of the leader, with a 219 (75-74-70). She also tied as the Wolf Pack's top finisher at the Nevada-UC Davis Challenge on Friday with a one-over par 73.

Other men nominated: Jonathan Bale, Louisiana Tech; and Tanner Higham, Utah State.
