SJSU Wins Club Glove WAC Women's Golf Championship

MESA, ARIZ. -- San Jose State defeated Hawai'i by one stroke to win the Club Glove WAC Women's Golf Championship at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.  The Spartans defended their title from last year by posting a three-round total of 918 (+66) to win their fourth women's golf championship as a member of the WAC.

"It was a tough course and a good course," said head coach John Dormann.  "Hawai'i hung in there the whole way and we did just enough to get the win.  Now hopefully we can use this momentum going into regionals."

Fresno State senior Hali Coppin won the individual title after starting today's round in a tie for second place.  Coppin's 73 on Wednesday tied for the best final round score of the day.  Hawai'i freshman Kaili Britos placed second (223, +10) after a 73 on Wednesday while Idaho teammates Kayla Mortellaro and Amanda Jacbos tied for third place (225, +8).
