DENVER – Boise State’s Holly Bourke and Fresno State’s Michelle Moses have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for May 3-9. This is the first-ever honor for Bourke and the second honor of the season and career for Moses.

Bourke, a freshman outfielder from Woodland, Calif., hit .800 with eight hits, including three doubles, and three RBI last week. She recorded at least two hits in all three games and went a perfect 3-for-3 in the final two games. She also stole two bases. During the week, Bourke ran her hitting streak to six games, tied for Boise State's third longest of the year.

Moses, a sophomore from Paso Robles, Calif., went 1-0 last week with a 0.00 ERA in a complete-game shutout vs. Louisiana Tech. She had a Fresno State seven-inning record 18 strikeouts, as she fanned the first 13 batters of the game, breaking the school record for consecutive strikeouts. Moses' perfect game was broken up with a one-out single in the fifth inning, one of two hits in the game for LA Tech.
