WAC Sends Two Teams to NCAA Tournament

DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference will send two softball teams to the NCAA Tournament as WAC Tournament champion Hawai'i will be joined by Fresno State in the postseason this year.

The Rainbow Wahine (44-13) will travel to the Stanford Regional to face UC Davis (26-27) at 3 p.m. (PT) on Friday. Hawai'i won both the WAC regular-season and tournament titles and set the NCAA single-season home run record at the WAC Tournament. Stanford (36-17) will take on Texas Tech (36-16) in the other game on Friday.

Fresno State (39-19) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will take on San Diego State (33-14) at 1 p.m. (PT) Friday in the Los Angeles Regional. The No. 5 overall seed UCLA (40-11) will host and play Saint Mary's (30-21) on the other side of the bracket. Fresno State remains the only team to be selected to all 29 NCAA Tournaments.
