Nine WAC Athletes Selected to Academic All-District At-Large Teams

Nine WAC student-athletes were named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large teams on Thursday.

Those selected include golfer Taylor Coffman of Nevada, tennis player Daniela Cohen of Idaho, tennis player Gustave Diep of New Mexico State, swimmer Margaret Doolittle of Nevada, wrestler Adam Hall of Boise State, water polo player Bridget McKee of San Jose State, tennis player Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State, golfer Robbie Richards of Boise State and tennis player Mirko Zapletal of Fresno State.

Diep, Doolittle, Petukhova and Zapletal were selected to the first team, while Coffman, Cohen, Hall, McKee and Richards were second-team honoree. First-team selections advance to the national ballot for academic All-America selection.

To be selected to Academic All-District, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 and be a starter or key reserve.

Sports covered in the at-large category are women's bowling, women's crew; men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo and men's wrestling.
