12 WAC Players Selected in Major League Baseball Draft

DENVER – Major League Baseball completed its annual draft on Thursday and a total of 12 WAC student-athletes were picked. Hawai‘i and Nevada each had a WAC-high four players drafted while Fresno State had two. Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State each had one player drafted.
 
Hawai‘i pitcher Josh Slaats was the first WAC player taken in the draft going to the Colorado Rockies in the fifth round with the 170th pick. Slaats was a first team all-WAC selection.
