Arizona State 8, Hawai‘i 4

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team (35-28) ended their season, falling to the No. 1 Arizona State Sun Devils (50-8) 8-4 in the championship round of the NCAA Tempe Regional at Packard Stadium Sunday. Connor Little (2-3) took the loss for the ’Bows while Jake Borup (11-1) got the win for ASU.

Hawai‘i 12, San Diego 9

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team (35-27) stayed alive, beating the No. 19 San Diego Toreros (37-22) 12-9 in the NCAA Tempe Regional elimination game at Packard Stadium on the campus of Arizona State Sunday. Blair Walters (2-1) got the win for UH while Matt Hauser (4-3) took the loss for USD.
 
David Freitas went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, a home run and a double while Greg Garcia doubled twice, going 3-for-5 with four RBI. Kolten Wong was 3-for-6 with two runs while Piikea Kitamura going 2-for-3 with a double and three runs. Matt Roquemore also had a three-hit day with two runs while Chase Koissian went 2-for-5 with one RBI. Kevin Macdonald homered with Jeffrey Van Doornum scoring twice.

 

Arizona State 12, Hawai‘i 1

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team (34-27) fell to the No. 1 Arizona State Sun Devils (49-8) 12-1 in the NCAA Tempe Regional at Packard Stadium at Jim Brock Ballpark Saturday. Josh Slaats (5-4) took the loss for UH while Seth Blair (12-0) got the win for ASU.
 
Jeffrey Van Doonum homered, going 1-for-3 on the game. Collin Bennett had a hit and a walk while Christian Johnson and Josh Chevalier both got pinch-hit singles.

 

Hawai‘i 4, San Diego 3

The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team (34-26) won an exciting 4-3 game over the No. 19 San Diego Toreros (36-21) in the first game of the NCAA Tempe Regional at Packard Stadium in Brock Ballpark on the campus of Arizona State Friday. Lenny Linsky (4-0) got the win, allowing no hits and just an unearned run. Matt Thompson (1-3) took the loss for USD.
 
David Freitas homered, going 1-for-4 with two RBI while Jeffrey Van Doornum added solo home run and two runs scored. Sean Montplaisir was 2-for-4 with a double and a run while Kevin Macdonald was 2-for-3 with a double while Greg Garcia added a 2-for-4 game. Matt Sisto pitched well in the start, allowing just two runs in 7.0 innings, striking out four with no walks, but got a no-decision.
