DENVER - Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Karl Benson today announced the hiring of Brad Jones as the Director of Championships.
Jones replaces Elizabeth Kampfe who served in the position since 2007. He will oversee the planning and administration of WAC championships, manage the awards program and also serve as the sport administrator for several sports.
Jones comes to the WAC after serving as the Director of Championships at the Atlantic 10 Conference during the 2009-10 season. He oversaw all championship, administrative, regular season and policy aspects within the conference for several sports including volleyball, soccer, swimming & diving, golf, tennis, track & field, baseball and softball. He began working for the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2005 as Coordinator of Championships.
Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science at Brigham Young University. He will join the WAC staff on August 3.
