WAC Supervisor of Umpires to be Inducted into the San Diego County Sports Officials Hall of Fame

DENVER--Dan Pedersen, the WAC's supervisor of baseball umpires, will be inducted into the San Diego County Sports Officials Hall of Fame on Sept. 21.

Pedersen, a five-time NCAA Division I College World Series umpire, has supervised umpires for the WAC since 1996. He has worked 19 NCAA regional tournaments, three super regional events and countless conference tournaments. Pedersen is a former professional minor league and international baseball umpire.

After a long and extremely successful on-field career in professional and college baseball, Pedersen left the field to develop, implement and manage umpire programs for the WAC and Pac-10. He continues to serve as the coordinator for both conferences today.

Pedersen has been instrumental in the growth and improvement of umpires in the west and is respected as one of the most progressive conference coordinators within the NCAA. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management and serves in a senior management role for Northrop Grumman.
