TEAM-BY-TEAM NOTES


Boise State Broncos
The Broncos enter the 2010 season guided by third-year coach Brad Wick...the Boise State men bring back three All-WAC honorees in sophomore Kevin Rosaaen (First Team), senior Sawyer Bosch and sophomore Jeff Howard (Second Team)...the women return standout sophomore Shannon Porter, who was the lone All-WAC selection garnering First-Team honors...both the men and women look to improve on their third and sixth-place finishes at the WAC championship...the Bronco men finished in the top three as a team in five of their seven meets (Won two, finished third at WAC and had a second and third-place finish).

Fresno State Bulldogs

Fresno State enters this season fresh off its men's second-place finish at the WAC championship last year, marking their best finish in nearly 20 years...the Bulldog men are led by senior Erick Garcia, an All-WAC First-Team selection, who claimed second place at the WAC championship...the men produced three All-WAC honorees in Garcia, senior Paul Zwama and sophomore Danny Vartanian...the women lose top senior All-WAC selection, Roxanne Sellick, to graduation as they look to improve off a fifth-place finish at the WAC championship...10 Bulldogs earned Academic All-WAC for the 2009 season.

Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine
Senior Jessica Forrester was UH's top runner last season recording team-best times in three out of five meets, including the WAC championship where she finished 24th overall. Forrester was also UH's lone representative at the NCAA West Regional meet in Eugene, Ore...the Rainbow Wahine also return senior Ashley Aitken who was a top-five team finisher in all four meets she competed in...senior Mariana Monasi, UH's top runner from 2008, rounds out the top returning runners for the Rainbow Wahine... head coach Carmyn James begins her 11th season with the program and is assisted by distance coach Althea Belgrave.

Idaho Vandals 
The Vandals return a women's team that took fourth and a men's team that took fifth in the WAC championship... Idaho returns seven of eight runners that competed for the men's team at the WAC championship, while the women return six of eight runners...First-Team All-WAC selections, junior Teegan Schoch and junior Markus Gieger look to lead the women's and men's teams respectfully in 2010...with only one senior on both the men's and women's teams, each is still relatively young.

Louisiana Tech
Both the men and women look to improve off their 2009 seasons...the men recorded a seventh-place finish in the 2009 WAC championship, while the women finished ninth out of nine teams...junior Chelsea Dressell was the top-performer all season long for the women, as she was the top finisher for LA Tech in four different meets...junior Josh Slocum will pace the men's team as he was the men's top finisher three out of four races.

Nevada Wolf Pack

Nevada enters the 2010 season with a lot of depth on the roster having only lost its No. 5 runner from last season...junior Jordan Burke, First-Team All-WAC, finished in fifth-place at the 2009 WAC championship and is the Wolf Pack's top returner...Nevada took third in last season's WAC championship finishing behind 2008 WAC champion Utah State, who took second, and champion New Mexico State...the Wolf Pack also had five women earn academic All-WAC awards.

New Mexico State Aggies
The women's team is coming off a historic season in which they claimed the WAC championship for the first time in school history, doing so in convincing fashion, finishing more than 40 points ahead of second-place Utah State...the Aggies will be paced by returning First-Team All-WAC sophomore sisters Courtney and Camille Schultz...Courtney earned Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors in the WAC last season ...the men look to improve off a deceiving fourth-place finish in the WAC championship, as they were only 20 points off second-place...they will be led by junior Ian Ruybalid who garnered Second-Team All-WAC honors...the Aggies also return WAC Coaches of the Year Paul Harkins and Meaghan Gregory.

San Jose State Spartans 
The Spartans return 13 athletes (10 women, three men) who received academic All-WAC honors during the 2009 fall season...the Spartan women will be paced by senior Nisha Richardson, who scored in four of the five meets she competed in last season...the men are led by seniors Alfredo Coronado and Alan Shelton; each runner scored in every meet last season for the Spartans...long-time coach Augie Argabright returns to lead the Spartans and will be assisted by Jeff Argarbright and Angela Stearns.

Utah State Aggies
The four-time defending WAC champion Utah State men's cross country team will look to defend once again going into the 2010 season... the men's and women's teams have a total of 17 seniors (10 for the men and seven for the women) between them, giving the Aggies experience going into the fall...the Aggie women are coming off a second-place finish at the WAC championship and are led by First-Team All-WAC selection junior Jessie Chugg.


WAC NOTES

WAC CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2010 WAC Cross Country Championship travels to Moscow, Idaho. This year's championships will be hosted by the University of Idaho Saturday, Oct. 30. The Utah State men and New Mexico State women claimed the championships last year.

NCAA REGIONALS
The 2010 Cross Country Regionals will be held at nine sites throughout the country, Saturday, Nov. 13. WAC teams will be represented in three locations. The West Region will be held in Eugene, Ore. (University of Oregon). The Mountain Region will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah (University of Utah), while Louisiana Tech will be the lone team in the South Central Regional (Baylor) in Waco, Texas.
