DENVER – Louisiana Tech’s Taylor Dennis and San Jose State’s Meghan Maiwald have been named Verizon Western Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 20-26.
Dennis, a freshman forward from Albuquerque, N.M. (Highland HS), became the sixth Lady Techster in school history to record a hat trick with three goals, all in the second half, in Louisiana Tech’s 8-0 victory over Nicholls State. The freshman forward is the second LA Tech player to score three goals in a single game this season. Dennis’ six points in the victory extends Louisiana Tech’s win streak to eight games, the second-longest streak in Tech’s seven year history.
