DENVER - ESPNU today announced that it will televise the Hawai`i at Fresno State Western Athletic Conference softball game on Friday, April 1. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. (PT).
Last year, the two teams played for the WAC Tournament title, with Hawai`i winning 14-3 and advancing to its first-ever Women’s College World Series.
The Rainbow Wahine are coming off their best season in program history (50-16), during which they set the NCAA record for home runs in a season with 158. Hawai`i returns National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Americans Melissa Gonzalez and Kelly Majam.
Fresno State went 41-21 and advanced to the championship game of the Los Angeles Regional, where it fell to eventual national champion UCLA. The Bulldogs remain the only team to have been selected to all 29 NCAA Tournaments.
