DENVER - WAC
softball umpire Dan Ringsby will be inducted into the Colorado Amateur Softball
Association (ASA) Hall of Fame on Jan. 22.
Ringsby, who
has been a WAC softball umpire for five years, has worked four NCAA regional
tournaments and nine conference tournaments. For ASA, he has worked 10 state,
six regional and three national tournaments.
Ringsby has
been a high school softball umpire in Colorado for 24 years, working 18
regional tournaments and 15 state tournaments, including seven championship
games. In 1998, he was named the National Federation of Interscholastic
Officials Association (NFIOA) Softball Official of the Year for Colorado.
Ringsby was
also a high school baseball umpire for several years, working 15 regional
tournaments and 13 state tournaments, including two championship games.
The Colorado
ASA Hall of Fame was created to honor those men and women who played a major
role in the growth and development of softball in the State of Colorado. To be
eligible for induction, umpires must have served for a minimum of 10 years in
the State of Colorado.
