Utah State 59, New Mexico State 49
LOGAN, Utah --(AP) Tai Wesley scored 18 points to lead Utah State past New Mexico State 59-49 on Saturday night.
Wesley was 5 for 7 from outside and made eight of his 12 free-throw attempts.
Nate Bendall grabbed 11 rebounds for Utah State (18-2, 7-0 WAC) and Brady Jardine added 10 as the hosts outrebounded New Mexico State 45-30.
Troy Gillenwater scored 20 points to lead New Mexico State (10-11, 4-3). Hernst Laroche added 11 points. NMSU was just 5 of 13 from the free-throw line and 37 percent from the field.
USU extended a 12-point halftime edge to 48-29 with 10:45 to play when Brian Green hit a 3-point shot to give the Aggies their largest lead of the game.
Utah State used a 16-0 run late in the first half to take a 35-23 lead at the break.
Boise State 70, Idaho 67
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - La'Shard Anderson had 21 points and seven assists as Boise State beat Idaho 70-67 on Saturday night.
Ryan Watkins and Paul Noonan each added 11 points for the Broncos (12-7, 5-2 WAC).
Kyle Baron led Idaho (12-7, 5-2) with 15 points, but missed a potential game-tying 3-point attempt with 5 seconds to play. Shawn Henderson and Jeff Ledbetter added 11 points each.
The Vandals led by two with 5 minutes remaining, but Anderson scored 12 points down the stretch, including hitting 6 of 7 from the free-throw line.
Nevada 66, Louisiana Tech 58
RENO, Nev. --(AP) Deonte Burton scored 18 points and Dario Hunt had 16 as Nevada rallied to beat Louisiana Tech 66-58 on Saturday night.
Malik Story added 10 points for the Wolf Pack (7-13, 4-3 WAC).
Olu Ashaolu had 26 points and 17 rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-12, 0-7). DeAndre Brown added 14 points.
Louisiana Tech led by as many as eight points in the first half and led 33-28 at halftime. Nevada opened the second half with a 16-6 run to go up 44-39 with 14:16 left and stretched the lead to 57-45 on a jumper by Jordan Burris with 7:33 to play.
The Bulldogs rallied with a 9-0 run, including back-to-back 3-pointers by Brown and a dunk by Ashaolu to make it 57-54 with 4:37 left. But Burton nailed a 3-pointer with 4:17 left, and Hunt hit all six of his free throws down the stretch to put the game away.
With the Wolf Pack leading 21-19 with 6:01 left in the first half, the Bulldogs went on an 11-2 run to go up 30-23 with 1:49 left. Ashaolu had 8 of the 11 points in the run and finished the first half with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Hawai‘i 67, San Jose State 61
HONOLULU --(AP) Bill Amis scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Joston Thomas had 14 points and 14 rebounds to carry Hawaii in a 67-61 win over San Jose State Saturday night.
The Rainbow Warriors (12-8, 3-5) won their third straight game in Western Athletic Conference play.
Hawaii used a 16-3 run in the closing minutes of the first half to take a 31-24 lead at intermission. San Jose State scored just six points in the final 6:03 of the half.
Thomas scored 10 of his points in the second half and grabbed 11 defensive rebounds. An 8-1 Hawaii run, capped by Vander Joaquim's putback with 4:56 to play, extended Hawaii's lead to 61-53.
Justin Graham led San Jose State (9-9, 1-6) with 20 points. Matt Ballard grabbed 10 rebounds for the Spartans.
Amis, who also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots, fouled out in the final minute.
