Fresno State 72, Nevada 51
The Bulldogs held the Wolf Pack to just 28 percent shooting in a 72-51 victory Saturday. With the win, Fresno State improves to 15-6 on the season and 6-1 in WAC play. Nevada falls to 13-6 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
The Bulldogs shot 36 percent from the field, 30 percent from three-point range and 88 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Wolf Pack connected on just 28 percent from the field, 11 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the charity stripe. Nevada out-rebounded Fresno State 42-38.
Hayley Munro led all players with 19 points to go with eight rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Jaleesa Ross added 14 points for the Bulldogs.
The Wolf Pack were led by Tahnee Robinson with 13 points and Kayla Williams with 12 points and 10 boards.
Idaho 64, New Mexico State 51
Yinka Olorunnife finished with 16 points and 18 rebounds as the Vandals defeated the Aggies 64-51 Saturday. Idaho improves to 11-8 on the year and 4-3 in WAC play. New Mexico State drops to 10-11 overall and 4-3 in the league.
The Vandals shot 35 percent from the field and three-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line on the game. The Aggies connected on 37 percent from the field, 33 percent from downtown and 40 percent from the line. Idaho dominated the glass, 46-33.
Olorunnife tallied her WAC-leading 10th double-double of the season, while Rachele Kloke scored a game-high 17 points and Alyssa Charlston scored a career-high 15 points.
Madison Spence led the Aggies with 13 points, while Jasmine Ruteledge grabbed 11 rebounds.
Louisiana Tech 93, Boise State 86
Louisiana Tech won its eighth-straight game, a 93-86 victory over Boise State at Taco Bell Arena Saturday. With the win, the Lady Techsters improve to 15-5 on the season and 7-0 in WAC play. The Broncos fall to 11-10 overall and 2-5 in the WAC.
For the game, Tech outscored Boise State 28-10 on points off of turnovers and dominated in fast break points, outscoring the Broncos 24-0. The Lady Techsters also took care of the basketball, committing only nine turnovers on the night while forcing 17 by the Broncos.
Adrienne Johnson led a group of six Lady Techsters in double-digit scoring with 21 points. Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey added 19 points, Whitney Jones had 17, Jasmine Bendolph had 13, Brietta Thomas had 12 and Shantale Bramble-Donaldson rounded out the group with 10 points.
Kati Isham led Boise State with 20 points.
Utah State 72, San Jose State 57
The Aggies won their second straight game Saturday, defeating San Jose State 72-57. With the win, Utah State evens its record to 10-10 on the year and improves to 4-3 in WAC play. The Spartans fall to 2-18 overall and 2-5 in the WAC.
USU shot 54 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 61 percent from the free throw line. The Spartans shot 40 percent from the field, 24 percent from beyond the arc and 67 percent from the charity stripe. SJSU The Spartans had a 36-28 rebounding advantage, but committed 23 miscues.
Devyn Christensen led the Aggies with a game-high 18 points, Banna Diop added 16 and Maddy Plunkett netted a career-high 10 points.
SJSU had four players in double-figures, led by Sara Plavljanin with 15 points, while Marnesha Hall and Sayja Sumler added 12 points apiece. AJ Newton chipped in with 10 points. Sumler pulled down a game-best nine rebounds.
