DENVER - Brittani Lum of Hawai'i and Louisiana Tech's Caitlin Updyke have been named Verizon Western Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of September 26-October 2.

Lum, a senior defender from Folsom, Calif. (St. Francis HS), scored two goals, both game-winning, as UH started WAC play 2-0 for the first time since 2007. Lum scored the golden goal off a corner kick in the 105th minute in UH's 2-1 double-overtime win over defending WAC champion Utah State. She also scored the opening goal on a free kick in UH's 5-0 win over Nevada, UH's most decisive WAC win in four years. In addition to her goals, Lum helped UH hold Utah State to one goal and record the team's first shutout of the year against Nevada. She leads the team in goals with five this season.

Updyke, a sophomore goalkeeper from Broomfield, Colo. (Broomfield HS), picked up her eighth shutout of the season in Louisiana Tech's 1-0 victory over New Mexico State, surpassing her own record for most shutouts in season in LTU history. The victory was her seventh of the season, and 21st of her career. She also lowered her GAA to 0.37 and has a save percentage of 0.900 for the season.
