No. 7 Hawai'i 3, Nevada 0
No. 7 Hawai'i won its 53rd consecutive WAC match Saturday, sweeping Nevada (25-14, 25-21, 25-17). With the win, the Rainbow Wahine improve to 24-1 overall and 12-0 in the WAC, while the Wolf Pack drop to 4-18 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
Hawai'i out-hit Nevada .367 to .089 on the match. The Rainbow Wahine also had more kills (41-29), assists (40-28), aces (6-5), digs (36-24) and blocks (7-3).
Kanani Danielson and Jane Croson had 13 and 12 kills, respectively, with both adding seven digs. Brittany Hewitt posted four blocks and Elizabeth Blake added 11 digs.
Janelle Batista recorded 10 kills to lead Nevada.
Idaho 3, New Mexico State 1
Idaho came from behind to beat second-place New Mexico State Saturday, 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-14). With the win, the Vandals move to 13-11 on the season and 7-4 in the WAC. The Aggies fall to 18-7 overall and 7-3 in the WAC.
Idaho hit .254 on the match, compared to the .105 of the Aggies. The Vandals also had more kills (53-46), assists (50-45), service aces (5-1), digs (58-51) and blocks (15-7).
Alison Walker led all players with 20 kills, while Rylee Walker added 12 kills. Cassie Hamilton had her seventh 20-plus dig effort of the season as she finished with 21 digs and added a pair of aces. Hamilton now has 1,340 career digs, and is 81 digs shy of breaking Idaho's all-time record.
Meredith Hays paced the Aggies with 17 kills and eight digs. Kelsey Brennan added 11 kills and five blocks.
Utah State 3, Louisiana Tech 0
The Aggies swept past Louisiana Tech (25-15, 25-17, 25-22) in WAC action Saturday. With the win, Utah State moves to 11-13 on the season and 6-5 in conference play. The Lady Techsters drop to 9-18 overall and 0-10 in the WAC.
The Aggies out-hit the Techsters .207 to -.051. Utah State also had more kills (32-25), assists (30-24), aces (3-1), digs (38-37) and blocks (8-4.5).
Liz McArthur paced the Aggies with 11 kills and seven digs. Ashlan Rogers tallied 10 digs, while Paige Neves dished out 27 assists.
LA Tech was led by Marcella Braz with 10 kills.
Fresno State 3, San Jose State 1
After dropping the first set, Fresno State rebounded to take a 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-13) win over San Jose State Saturday night. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 11-12 on the season and 5-5 in WAC play. The Spartans drop to 10-15 overall and 5-7 in the conference.
Fresno State out-hit San Jose State .321 to .163. The Bulldogs also had more kills (58-43), assists (57-41), digs (62-53) and blocks (9-5). The Spartans tallied 11 service aces to the Bulldogs' six.
Lauren Albertson tallied a career-high 15 kills to tie with teammate Korrin Wild for the match high. Wild also added 12 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Kylie Miraldi led San Jose State with 12 kills, while Kiely Pieper tallied 14 digs.
