ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (Nov. 7-13)
Northern Arizona's Rachel Palmer and Kristy Ardavanis have been named the Verizon WAC Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for the week of Nov. 7-Nov. 13.

Palmer, a sophomore from Bucklands Beach, New Zealand (Macleans), won six different events and had two third-place finishes in three meets last weekend in Colorado. On Thursday, at Colorado State, she won the 400-meter individual medley in 4:32.45, the second-best time in the WAC this season. In addition, Palmer also captured the title in the 200-meter butterfly and swam the third leg on the first place 400-meter medley relay team. At Northern Colorado on Friday, she won the 200-meter freestyle, the 100-meter butterfly, and finished third in 100-meter backstroke. On Saturday, in Denver for a multi meet with Seattle, Utah and Denver, she won the 200-meter backstroke, swam the third leg of the 200-meter medley relay team that placed third, and finished fifth in the 200-meter individual medley. She has won nine total events in just four meets this season.

Ardavanis, a junior from Gilbert, Ariz. (Mesquite HS), won five of six diving competitions in three meets last weekend. On Thursday, she won the 1-meter competition (292.13) and placed second on the 3-meter board (292.43) at Colorado State. Against Northern Colorado on Friday, Ardavanis won the 1-meter, with a career-best score of 308.78, and the 3-meter dive with a season-best score of 305.78. Her scores vs. Northern Colorado were second-best marks of the season in the WAC.

She followed that up on Saturday at Denver, again winning the 1-meter (281.50) and 3-meter competitions (299.60), defeating divers from both Denver and Utah. In four meets this year she has won seven of the eight diving events, with sweeps in three meets, and has already qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving championship in both events.

TEAM RECAPS
Fresno State Bulldogs (2-3)

Fresno State fell to UC Davis 194-106 on Saturday ... freshman Lucy Titchin set a new pool record at the Fresno State Aquatics Center winning the 200-meter Freestyle with a time of 1:54.02 ... junior Stacey Luke won the 1-meter and 3-meter dives and was the only Bulldog to win two events against UC Davis ... in the 1-meter, she dove a career best scoring a 275.40, breaking her previous personal record by more than four points ... this week, the Bulldogs swimmers are at the Arena Invitational from Thursday-Saturday ... UC San Diego is hosting the meet at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. ... 28 teams will be in attendance, including conference opponents Hawai'i and San Jose State.

Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine (0-0)
Hawai'i was off last week ... the Rainbow Wahine last participated in the Sunshine Diving Invite, a competition consisting of divers from clubs Sport Basic and Sunshine Diving ... senior Daniella Nero took first place in the 1-meter competition and junior Hannah Bocksnick claimed the top spot in the 3-meter dive ... this week, the Hawai'i swimmers are at the Arena Invitational from Thursday-Saturday ... UC San Diego is hosting the meet at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. ... conference foes Fresno State and San Jose State will be in attendance ... the diving squad will be back in action from Dec. 1-3 at the Texas Diving Invite in Austin, Texas.

Idaho Vandals (1-3)
Idaho was off this week ... in its last action, the Vandals fell to Northern Arizona 155.5-133.5, in its first conference dual of the season ... freshman Rachel Millet won the 100-meter freestyle and the 200-meter Individual Medley ...  senior Savannah Bettis picked up a victory with her win in the 200-meter butterfly ... junior Paige Hunt won the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 264.60, the highest mark in Vandal history ... this week, Idaho competes at the Houston Cougar Classic Invitational, from Thursday-Saturday ... fellow WAC opponent New Mexico State will also be at the competition.

Nevada Wolf Pack (2-1)
Nevada was off last week ... during its last action, the Wolf Pack won two meets, defeating Pacific 137-100 on Oct. 28 and WAC foe Fresno State 158.5-141.5 on Oct. 29 ... junior Jojo Mi won six events, three at each meet ... vs. Fresno State, sophomore Grace Huang was the only competitor to score more than 300 points in the one-meter and three-meter dives, with totals of 340.20 and 309.15, respectively ... her first place finishes in both events earned Nevada a total of 19 points ... this week, the Wolf Pack divers compete at the Wildcat Diving Invitational from Friday-Sunday  ... WAC member Northern Arizona  will also be in attendance... the entire team will compete next on Dec. 3 at Cal State East Bay.

New Mexico State Aggies (1-2)
The New Mexico State was off last week ... the Aggies defeated Northern Colorado, 174-110, on Oct. 29, in its last action ... freshman Jessica Leggewon won the 100-meter breaststroke, the 200-meter backstroke and was a member of the winning 400-medley relay ... senior Carly Smith swept the 1-meter diving competition (241.50) and 3-meter (251.40) spring board ... this is the second time in three meets that Smith has won both events ... this week, the Aggies are in action at the Houston Cougar Invitational from Thursday-Saturday, which will feature WAC foe Idaho among the opposition.

North Dakota Fighting Sioux (4-3)
North Dakota lost two duals at a four-team meet at Northwestern on Saturday ... the Sioux lost 159-140 to Illinois-Chicago and 187-104 to Northwestern ... junior Veronica Medon finished with a trio of first-place finishes, winning the 100-meter backstroke, the 200-meter backstroke and the 200-meter individual medley ... sophomore Rachel Waldbillig finished fourth in the 3-meter dive and sixth in the 1-meter competition ... North Dakota has the next two weeks off ... the Fighting Sioux return to action on Dec. 1-3 at the Missou Tiger Invite.

Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (4-1)
Northern Arizona went 3-1 on a busy three-day road trip to Colorado ... the Lumberjacks defeated Colorado State 143-109 on Thursday, Northern Colorado 160.5-82.5 on Friday and Seattle 171-65 on Saturday ... the lone loss came as part of a four-team meet on Saturday, as NAU fell to Denver 148-92 ... sophmore Rachel Palmer and junior Kristy Ardavanis were named the Verizon WAC Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively, for their efforts ... this is the second-straight week Ardavanis has earned the honor ... this week, NAU will compete in the Wildcat Diving Invite from Friday-Sunday ... WAC opponent Nevada will also be at the meet.

San Jose State Spartans (3-1)
The Spartans were off this week ... in its last action, San Jose State won two dual meets, topping UC Santa Cruz 180-105 on Oct. 28 and UC Davis 178-122 on Oct. 29 ... senior Kirsten Trammell won six events over the two meets ... against UC Davis, her 100-meter breaststroke time was 1:03.31, a pool record for the SJSU Aquatics Center and was ranked 25th nationally this season, first in the WAC ... the Spartans next competitions will be split squad, as the swimmers head to the Arena Invitational from Thursday-Saturday ... UC San Diego is hosting the meet at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. ... conference foes Fresno State and Hawai'i will be in attendance.
