New Mexico State 89, UTEP 73
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -The New Mexico State men's basketball team ended rivalry week with an 89-73 win over I-10 rival UTEP. The Aggies improved to 3-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season. Redshirt senior forward Wendell McKines scored a career-high 23 points along with 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the year. Senior guard Hernst Laroche, sophomore guard Christian Kabongo and junior forward Bandja Sy contributed 15 points each while sophomore center Tshilidzi Nephawe added 12. The Aggies posted a 42-38 halftime lead. McKines had a game-high 11 points and six rebounds. Laroche added nine points, while Kabongo and Sy aided the offense with eight points each.

Utah State 65, Southern Utah 62
LOGAN, Utah - Junior forward Kyisean Reed and freshman guard Steven Thornton each scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench to lead Utah State to a come-from-behind 65-62 home win against Southern Utah Saturday. In all, Utah State's reserves scored 31 of its 65 points in the game. Utah State played the final 36 minutes of the contest without star forward Brady Jardine who injured his ankle early on and did not return. Jardine entered the game averaging 10.5 points and 11.0 rebounds on the year.

#23 Gonzaga 73, Hawai‘i 54
VANCOUVER, B.C. – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team hung tough before eventually succumbing to No. 22 Gonzaga, 73-54,in the BC Basketball Classic Saturday night at the Rogers Arena. UH dropped to 1-1 with its first loss of the season. The Rainbow Warriors were competitive for much of the game before a second-half dry spell that doomed them. UH trailed by just one point with 12 minutes left, but Gonzaga (3-0) went on a 28-9 run the rest of the way to pull of the win.

UT Arlington 68, Louisiana Tech 61
ARLINGTON, Texas - The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team (1-1) fell 68-61 to future Western Athletic Conference foe UT-Arlington (2-0) Saturday night at Texas Hall as senior guard Trevor Gaskins (Alpharetta, Ga.) led the Bulldogs with a game-high 22 points. "The guys fought and played hard tonight," said head coach Michael White. "This will be a game that we are going to learn a lot from when we look at the tape." The Mavericks scored the first seven points of the game before a three-pointer by Gaskins at the 17:34 mark started a 12-1 Tech run. The Bulldogs jumped out to a nine-point advantage, 22-13, after sophomore Kenyon McNeail (Conway, Ark.) scored on a layup at the 8:10 mark of the first half after a steal.

Santa Clara 84, San Jose State 58
SANTA CLARA, Calif. --San Jose State struggled on both ends of the floor leading to an 84-58 loss at Santa Clara in a non-conference men's basketball game. The Spartans kept Bronco All-West Coast Conference guard in check with just 15 points on 5-of-14 field goal shooting, but career nights by center John McArthur and forward Niyi Harrison was too much for San Jose State (1-3). McArthur scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Harrison tallied 18 points and added 8 rebounds as Santa Clara (2-1) out-rebounded the Spartans, 50-30.
