San Jose, Calif.-----At times in his first two-plus seasons, San Jose State swingman Chris Jones provided a much-needed spark either as a starter or as a reserve. Against Holy Names, Jones ignited his teammates with 13 points in just 15 minutes as San Jose State left The Event Center with a 109-71 non-conference victory. Jones made all of his shots, five field goals and three free throws, and helped the Spartans (2-3) end a two-game losing streak. He was one of six San Jose State players in double-figure scoring.

Nevada 80, Longwood 78
RENO, Nev. (AP) - Malik Story scored 28 points and Nevada held on for the 80-78 victory over Longwood in the Chicago Invitational Challenge on Thursday. Deonte Burton had 14 points and Dario Hunt 13 for the Wolf Pack (3-2), which led by as many as 15 points at 59-44 with 12:11 to play. Longwood (1-4) responded with a 20-4 run over the next eight minutes and went up 64-63 with 4:57 left in the game. Nevada came right back to regain the lead on a Burton 3-pointer with 4:39 left and never trailed again.

Texas A&M-CC 58, Utah State 55 (OT)
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Senior forward Morgan Grim recorded his first-ever double-double with a career-high 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in Utah State's 58-55 overtime loss at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Tuesday. Utah State, who was playing its first game without senior forward Brady Jardine following a foot injury in its last outing, falls to 2-2 on the season with the loss and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi improves to 1-2 with the win. Entering tonight, USU had won five straight overtime games dating back to the 2006 season, 51 straight games when leading at the half and 28 straight games when allowing less than 60 points.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Jonathan Wills scored a career-high 26 points, including 20 in the second half, but it was not enough to bring Fresno State back from a 17-point halftime deficit in a 83-79 loss to UT-San Antonio Tuesday night at Moby Arena in the Dicks's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. After coming back from a 14-point deficit to tie the game the night before against Manhattan before falling in the final seconds, another frantic Bulldog comeback came up just short again.

Eastern Washington 89, Hawai‘i 72
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team suffered a rare home loss with a 89-72 setback to Eastern Washington Tuesday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. UH dropped to 1-2 on the season with its second straight loss. The Eagles (2-2), who held second half-leads in previous losses at nationally ranked Gonzaga and Oregon, were finally able to breakthrough, though at the expense of the Rainbow Warriors.Colin Chiverton led four Eagles in double figures with 20 points.
