New Mexico State 78, Central Michigan 49
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (NMSU Media Relations)-The New Mexico State men's basketball team opened the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout with a 78-49 win over Central Michigan.
The Aggies improved to 4-0, which is only the third 4-0 start since the 1992-93 season, when they won the Shootout in 1992.
With the win, the Aggies meet the winner of the Southern Mississippi-UC Irvine game, Friday, Nov. 25 at 10 p.m. in the tournament semifinals.
Senior redshirt forward Wendell McKines posted his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds for his 30th career double-double. Junior forward Bandja Sy had a team-high 15 points, and junior guard Christian Kabongo contributed 12 points.
