Hawai‘i has earned the No. 10 overall seed in the field and will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament this Thursday and Friday, Dec. 1 and 2. It is the first time in eight years that UH will hosts a first and second round site.
The Rainbow Wahine (29-1) will face Northern Colorado (22-8) in the first round. The other first round match pits Colorado State (23-5) against Oregon (21-9). The winners will play Friday for the right to advance to the Honolulu Regional, Dec. 9 and 10.
UNC won both the regular-season and tournament titles in the Big Sky and is making its second tournament appearance in the last three years. Colorado State, on a five-match winning streak, clinched its 17th straight NCAA Tournament berth by winning the Mountain West Championship. Oregon earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament from the Pac-12 Conference and is making its fifth appearances in the last six years.
The Rainbow Wahine won both the WAC regular-season and tournament titles.
