Utah State 1, Fresno State 0 | Video Highlights
Top-seeded Utah State defeated second seed Fresno State 1-0 in the WAC Championship. Utah State's Shantel Flanary found Jade Tarver alone down the left wing in the 83rd minute, and the freshman calmly slotted home the finish to propel Utah State into the NCAA Tournament.
Semifinals
Fresno State 3, New Mexico State 0 | Video Highlights
Second seed Fresno State defeated sixth-seeded New Mexico State 3-0 to advance to the WAC Tournament Championship. Sophomore Morgan Castain scored just 50 seconds into the match as the Bulldogs got out to a quick start and didn't look back. Laura Dodd scored in the 8th minute for the Bulldogs and Callie Hancock, the WAC's leading scorer in the regular season, added a goal in the 22nd minute.
The Bulldogs move on to face the top-seeded Utah State Aggies in the championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Utah State 1, Idaho 0 | Video Highlights
Top-seeded Utah State defeated fifth-seeded Idaho to advance to the WAC Tournament Championship on Sunday. Sophomore midfielder Kendra Pemberton scored with just over 15 minutes remaining in the contest for the Aggies. On a 3-1 break, senior forward Shantel Flanary's pass found Pemberton outside the 18-yard box and she struck a shot low to the lefthand corner, beating Idaho goalkeeper Caroline Towles.
Utah State will face Fresno State in the championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.,
First Round
New Mexico State 2, Hawai'i 1 | Video Highlights
Sixth-seeded New Mexico State defeated third-seeded Hawai'i 2-1. Bree Luhrsen coverted a rebound following a flurry or action around the Hawai'i net in the minute, capping a come-from behind win for the Aggies. Yolanda McMillion picked up the assist on the goal. Jennae Cambra had equalized just before halftime for NMSU, after Hawai'i's Krystal Pascua scored in the 20th minute to put Hawai'i in front.
New Mexico State will take on second-seeded Fresno State tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
Idaho 2, San Jose State 1 | Video Highlights
Fifth-seeded Idaho defeated the fourth-seeded San Jose State Spartans 2-1 in the first match of the 2011 WAC Soccer Tournament in Fresno, Calif. Junior midfielder Amber Pimley scored twice for Idaho, her first two goals of the season. The Vandals rallied from a 1-0 defecit following a goal by San Jose State freshman Catherine Ruder. It took Pimley just 20 seconds to equalize. She scored the game-winning goals with 40:50 remaining in the first half.
Idaho will take on top-seeded Utah State tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
