New Mexico State 3, Nevada 0
New Mexico State picked up at least 20 wins for the ninth time in the past 10 years as it swept Nevada (25-13, 25-16, 25-23) in the Pan American Center Saturday. With the win, the Aggies improve to 20-7 on the year and 9-3 in WAC play. The Wolf Pack fall to 5-19 on the year and 2-10 in the conference.
NM State out-hit the Wolf Pack .350 to .059 and out-blocked them 9-3.
Kelsey Brennan led the Aggies with nine kills, while Jennah DeVries posted 31 assists and nine digs.
Tessa Lea'ea and Janelle Batista paced Nevada with eight kills apiece.
Idaho 3, Utah State 2
Idaho defeated Utah State in five sets (24-26, 25-19, 24-26, 27-25, 15-8) Saturday. With the win, Idaho improves to 14-11 on the season and 8-4 in WAC play. Utah State falls to 6-6 in league play and 11-15 overall with the loss. Utah State led two sets to one and held an 18-9 lead in the fourth set before Idaho rallied to post the 27-25 victory. The Vandals then dominated the fifth set to complete the come-from-behind win.
Utah State finished the match with a .212 hitting percentage and Idaho hit .259. Idaho also had 10 more digs (73-63) and four more service aces (8-4), while USU had 2.5 more team blocks (11.5-9.0) and one fewer service errors (7-6).
Liz McArthur had a career-high 26 kills, Josselyn White added 18 kills, seven digs and four blocks, and Shay Sorensen finished with 13 kills and five blocks. Ashlan Rogers added a season-high 27 digs.
Alicia Milo had 28 kills and 17 digs, while Allison Walker added 23 kills and 11 digs to lead Idaho.
Fresno State 3, Louisiana Tech 0
The Bulldogs added another win to their resume by sweeping Louisiana Tech (25-23, 25-20, 25-17) on the road Saturday night. With the win, Fresno State improves to 12-13 overall and 6-6 in the WAC. LA Tech drops to 9-20 on the year and 0-12 in WAC action.
Fresno State out-hit LA Tech .301 to .165 and the 'Dogs landed 22 more kills than the Lady Techsters.
Brianna Clarke and Korrin Wild led the Bulldogs with 14 kills each. Barbara Alcantara tossed up 46 assists, while Christina Lee added her fifth-straight double-digit dig effort at 12.
LA Tech was led by Caitlin Germany with 10 kills.
