DENVER – Fresno State sophomore guard Ki-Ki Moore has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 5-11. This is the second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and her career for Moore.
The San Francisco native averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game as the Bulldogs went 2-0 on the week. Moore opened the week with her second career double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to go along with six steals in a win over No. 23 Oklahoma, Fresno State’s first victory over a ranked opponent since 2008. She then scored 16 points on 64 percent shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, in a win at Cal State Northridge. For the week, she shot 50 percent from the field and 43 percent from three-point range.
Other nominees included: Alyssa Charlston of Idaho finished with 22 points and nine rebounds in a win over Carroll College ... Louisiana Tech’s Jasmine Bendolph averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals as the Lady Techsters went 2-1 on the week ... Tabytha Wampler of New Mexico State scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a loss to Boise State ... Utah State’s Ashlee Brown tallied 15 points and nine rebounds in a loss to Idaho State last week.
