The Ruston Soccer Club was created to develop both Ruston and Louisiana Tech into a center of excellence for youth and collegiate soccer. The Louisiana Tech Soccer team helps every week with the practices that are dedicated to raising the technical ability of our players and to helping each player maximize their full potential.
The women's soccer team, including the coaches, participate and help facilitate every practice. Over the year, the kids in the soccer club have shown huge improvement and have truly enjoyed working with the women's soccer team. Starting in August, when the team reports for pre-season practice, they began to help facilitate and run practices with the club. At the beginning of the year, the club would practice twice a week for one hour. Starting in March, a boy's club was added and they also practiced twice a week for one hour. Over the past years since the beginning of the Ruston Soccer Club, the link between the community of Ruston and the Louisiana Tech Women's Soccer Team has grown stronger than ever. The women's team has strong connections and ties with the families of the kids in the club. The kids in the club are helping the women's team as well providing the help during Tech's game as ball kids. The support from the community at the women's game has grown to fill the stands.
