Fresno State, SJSU Pick Up Wins Thursday

Fresno State 81, Oregon 71
The Bulldogs hit 17 three-pointers and handed Oregon its first loss of the season with an 81-71 victory Thursday night. Fresno State improves to 5-2 on the season with the win.

The Bulldogs shot 41 percent (28-of-68) from the field, 44 percent (17-of-39) from three-point range and 67 percent (8-of-12) from the free throw line on the game. The Ducks connected on 40 percent (29-of-72) from the floor, 26 percent (5-of-19) from beyond the arc and just 47 percent (8-of-17) from the charity stripe. Oregon out-rebounded the Bulldogs 52-43.

Ki-Ki Moore posted her first career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Rosie Moult ended the night with 15 points, all on three-pointers, and added a team-high four steals. Madison Parrish came off the bench to finish with 14 points, incoluding 4-for-4 from three-point range.

The last time the Bulldogs defeated a Pac-12 school was a 2006 69-60 road win over Arizona.


San Jose State 74, Northern Arizona 64
Sara Plavljanin scored a season and game-high 26 points, including a perfect 12-of-12 from the free throw line, as San Jose State won its first game of the year 74-64 over Northern Arizona Thursday night in the Event Center.

The Spartans (1-6) break a 17-game losing streak, dating back to January of last season, and get the first victory at San Jose State for first-year head coach Tim La Kose.

San Jose State put the Lumberjacks away by outscoring NAU 23-15 to close out the game and by sinking 14-straight attempts from the charity stripe.  Plavljanin hit eight of them, including the final four to seal the win.

The Spartans shot 39 percent from the field (18-of-46), 56 percent from three-point range (5-of-9) and 73 percent from the line (33-of-45). NAU connected on 38 percent from the field (24-of-63), 33 percent from downtown (7-of-21) and 64 percent from the free throw line (9-of-14). The Lumberjacks out-rebounded SJSU 41-29, but committed 32 turnovers in the loss.

Brittany Johnson continued her double-digit scoring steak with 17 points and a team high eight rebounds. She has reached double-figure scoring in each of the team's seven games.
