Louisiana Tech 69, Spring Hill 41
RUSTON, La. -(LT Media Relations) Freshman guard Raheem Appleby (Jacksonville, Ark.) scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, a career-best, for his first career double-double as Louisiana Tech (8-6) defeated Spring Hill (8-3) Thursday night 69-41 in front of 4,930 fans at the Thomas Assembly Center.
In the first half, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-2 advantage after a layup from senior forward Romario Souza (Mias Gerias, Brazil) and a three-pointer from senior guard Trevor Gaskins (Alpharetta, Ga.)
The Badgers scored the next four points to take their only lead of the game, 6-5, at the 16:29 mark. Tech responded with an 11-2 run over the next 9:18 for an eight-point advantage.
Spring Hill came back to tie the game 19-19 with 4:12 left in the period before the Bulldogs scored the final seven points of the half to go into halftime up 26-19. The 19 points are the fewest the Tech has given up this season in the first half.

San Jose State 81, Coppin State 66
Seattle, Wash.--(SJSU Media Relations) Guard Keith Shamburger was one of three San Jose State players to make four 3-point baskets as the Spartans set a single-game school record with 16 3-point baskets in an 81-66 comeback victory over Coppin State in the Elgin Baylor Classic.
Shamburger led the Spartans (5-8) with 18 points and seven assists. Reserve guards Calvin Douglas and D.J. Brown each scored 14 points making four 3-points apiece in the process.
The Spartans' previous school record for made 3-pointers was 14 in a 2005 game against Louisiana Tech. San Jose State's 40 3-point field goal attempts also was a single-game school record.

Fresno State 55, Pacific 47

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Jonathan Wills scored all of his 12 points in the second half to lead Fresno State to a 55-47 victory over Pacific on Thursday.
After Pacific had climbed within five points, a 3-pointer by Larry McGaughey and Tyler Johnson's follow basket gave the Bulldogs a 45-35 lead with 5:19 remaining. They cruised to the finish from there.
Johnson had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Fresno State (6-8), eight of each coming in the second half.
Lorenzo McCloud scored 13 points to lead Pacific. Colin Beatty had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers (4-7), who lost their fourth in a row and first at home this season.

Hawai‘i 100, South Carolina State 73
HONOLULU – (UH Media Relations) The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team got off to a sluggish start before putting it into overdrive in a 100-73 blowout win over South Carolina State Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 8-5 with their sixth win in their last seven games.
The 'Bows actually trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half and by one point at the break before absolutely throttling the Bulldogs in the second half. UH out-scored South Carolina State, 59-31, after the break en route to posting its highest point total since 2002.
Hauns Brereton gave UH a huge jolt off the bench, scoring a career-high 22 points and helping lead UH's second-half surge. Brereton scored 10 of the team's first 12 points after the break, including a rim-rattling dunk that gave UH a 50-48 lead, just its second lead of the game and one they wouldn't relinquish. The bucket sparked a 12-0 run and opened the flood gates as the 'Bows built its lead to as many as 36 points.
