LOGAN, Utah -(USU Media Relations) Sophomore guard Danny Berger and junior forward Kyisean Reed came off the bench to combine for 21 points, in helping the Utah State reserves to a nine-point advantage over their counterparts, which resulted in a nine-point victory, as the Aggies beat Utah Valley, 63-54, Tuesday night in men's basketball action at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Sophomore starting guard Preston Medlin netted a team-high 13 points and a career-high six assists, while Reed added 11 points. Berger had 10 points, including seven in the second half, in only his second game of action, as USU led from start-to-finish in improving to 4-4 overall, and snapping a two-game losing skid to avoid its first three-game losing streak since 2007-08.
Utah Valley was led by Isiah Williams' game-high 16 points while Kevin Woods added 10 points off the bench for the Wolverines, who also evened their record with a level 5-5 mark with the loss.

Louisiana Tech 94, Northwestern State 93 (2OT)
RUSTON, La. – Freshman guard Raheem Appleby (Jacksonville, Ark.) nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer in the second overtime to give the Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team (4-4) a 94-93 victory over intrastate rival Northwestern State (4-5) Tuesday night at the Thomas Assembly Center.
“This was a very entertaining game to watch from a fans’ stand point but a very hard contest to coach for Mike McConathy and myself,” said head coach Michael White. “Neither team was able to get into a defensive rhythm but both were unbelievable from three-point range.”
This was the 12th double overtime contest in Tech history and first since Dec. 12, 2009 at Centenary (W, 102-96).

Pacific 64, Hawai‘i 54
STOCKTON, Calif. –(UH Media Relations) The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team dropped its second straight road game with a 64-54 loss to Pacific Tuesday night at the Alex G. Spanos Center. The Rainbow Warriors dropped to 2-4 with their fourth loss in their last five games.
Kahlil Kelley notched a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Tigers (4-3), who avenged a 75-70 loss to the Rainbow Warriors on Nov. 25. Kelley went a perfect 7-of-7 from the field and helped the Tiger pull away in the second half.
The game was tight with UH trailing just 48-46 with just under nine minutes left. But Pacific broke open the game with a 10-0 run capped by a Markus Duran three-pointer with 6:08 remaining. That shot gave the Tigers its biggest lead of the game, 58-46, and UH would not recover.
