Hawai’i's Brittany Hewitt has been named the 2010 Blocker of the Year by the Collegiate Volleyball Update.
A 6-3 sophomore from Eagle, Idaho, Hewitt was the front-row anchor for a Hawai’i squad that finished as one of CVU’s Top 5 Defensive teams for 2010.
The middle hitter led Division I in blocks per set with 1.68, totaling 158 block assists as well as 12 solo stuffs.
During the season, the sophomore set a pair of school rally-scoring era records, tallying a .917 hitting percentage against New Mexico State and tabbing 16 blocks vs. San Diego.
