DENVER - Utah State's Bryan Marchant and Boise State's Stephanie Jasper have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Tennis Players of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 14-20.
Marchant, a senior from Salt Lake City, Utah (Olympus HS), went undefeated in singles and doubles matches over the weekend, helping Utah State to a pair of victories over Portland State, 7-0, and WAC-foe Nevada, 5-2. Marchant was the aggressor in his singles matchup against Portland State's Roman Margoulis as he won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, on court No. 4. In doubles play, he paired with teammate Sven Poslusny to win a hard fought match against PSU's No. 1 duo of Chris Rice and Margoulis, 8-6. In his toughest test, Marchant closed out his perfect weekend with a dramatic three set win over Nevada's Mege, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

(Montana State), helped Boise State to a pair of victories over Washington State, 5-2, and WAC-rival Idaho, 6-1, by going undefeated in each of her singles and doubles matches. She had to work for her singles victory against Washington State's Andjela Kankaras, as she defeated her in three sets, 6-1, 6-7, 6-1, at the No. 4 spot.
