Louisiana Tech has an opportunity to clinch at least a share of the WAC regular-season title when the Lady Techsters play at Nevada tonight at 8 p.m. PT at the Lawlor Events Center in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
LA Tech (21-5, 13-0 WAC) currently holds a two-game lead over Fresno State with three regular-season games remaining. Nevada (19-8, 8-6) is in search of the program's first 20-win season.
The Lady Techsters are coming off a 78-70 win at Utah State Saturday afternoon, while the Wolf Pack is coming off a 63-59 loss to New Mexico State.
Monday night's game will feature two of the top 10 scorers in the country in Tech senior Adrienne Johnson (21.9 ppg, 9.5 rpg) and Nevada senior Tahnee Robinson (21.8 ppg, 5.9 rpg).
Johnson recorded her 16th game of 20 or more points in the win over Utah State, totaling 25 points and 16 rebounds. Robinson was the lone Wolf Pack player in double figures in the loss to New Mexico State, scoring 24 points.
Tech defeated Nevada 67-43 in the first meeting of the year in Ruston on Jan. 22 in a game that saw the Lady Techsters force 28 Wolf Pack turnovers while committing a season-low six.
Tech leads the all-time series against Nevada 19-5, including a 9-5 mark in Reno. Nevada has won three of the last four meetings at Lawlor Events Center, although the Lady Techsters prevailed in the semifinals of the 2010 WAC Tournament last March.
