San Jose, Calif.--(SJSU Media Relations) The honors continue to roll in for Adrian Oliver of the San Jose State University men's basketball team.

The 6-foot-4 senior from Modesto, Calif., is one of 22 players named to the 2011 Lute Olson All-America team.

Oliver finished the season averaging 24.0 points a game. He became the first San Jose State player to lead the Western Athletic Conference in single-season scoring and currently ranks fourth nationally in scoring average.

Oliver was the focal player in the Spartans' 17-16 win-loss record - the first winning season since 1994. San Jose State competed in post-season action for the first time since 1996 as one of 16 teams invited to the 2011 College Basketball Invitational presented by ZebraPen.

Since the beginning of March, the number-two scorer in school history with 1,750 points was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC), one of five players named to the WAC All-Tournament team, and was a National Association of Basketball Coaches District VI first-team choice.

The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I player who played at least two seasons with his respective team. Freshmen and first-year transfers can be named to the All-America team, but are not eligible to receive the Player of the Year honors.

The 2011 Lute Olson Player of the Year will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com awards banquet on April 1 in Houston, site of the men's basketball championship.

The award is named in honor of Lute Olson, who won 780 games in 34 seasons, 24 of which were spent at the University of Arizona. During that stretch he led the Wildcats to 11 Pac-10 Conference titles, 23 consecutive NCAA Tournaments, four Final Four appearances and a National Championship in 1997s.
