DENVER
- Nevada's
Scott Smith and New Mexico State's Demi Mak have been named the Verizon Western
Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for March 21-27.
Smith, a senior from Fallon, Nev. (Churchill
County HS), tied for second place at the Barona Collegiate Cup held last week
in Lakeside, Calif. Smith finished one
stroke back of the winner after carding a 6-under 210 (69-69-72). It was his second runner-up finish of the
year and third in the top five. Nevada
finished in fourth place out of 16 teams.
It is the fifth time in his career that Smith has won a WAC golfer of
the week or month award.

International School of Macau), won the BYU at Entrada Classic that was held in
St. George, Utah, March 21-22. Mak shot
a 2-over par 218 (74-74-70) to win the tournament by four strokes. Her 70 in round three was one of just four
under par recorded by anyone in the field of 81 players during the tournament

has won a WAC golfer of the week or month award.
