DENVER – Boise State’s Kurt Felix was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) West Region Field Athlete of the Year today.
Felix, a senior and native of St. Davids, Grenada, earned an automatic qualifier in the heptathlon, scoring 5,691 points, in winning the WAC title and setting a new league meet standard. Felix was also the WAC meet’s high-point performer with 36 points, scoring an additional conference crown in the triple jump to go with runner-up showings in the high and long jumps.
