The Aggies rattled off 15 hits in a five-inning 10-2 win over Nevada in the first game of a doubleheader at Hixson Park Saturday afternoon. Tiare Jennings was 4-for-4 with four runs and three RBI, while Ashley Maroda was 4-for-4 with two runs and one driven in. Alex Newman earned the complete-game win in the circle, improving to 19-4 on the year.
New Mexico State 12, Nevada 9
The two teams combined for 39 hits, but the Aggies came out victorious in the nightcap, 12-9. Kylie Randall was 5-for-6 with two runs and one RBI, while Jennings drove in three runs and Kandis Jones and Hoku Nohara had two RBI each. Sydney Williard earned the win, throwing 4.0 innings and giving up just one earned run.
Fresno State 2, San Jose State 1 (9)
Rebecca Hall hit an RBI-single to the shortstop in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Fresno State a 2-1 win over San Jose State at Bulldog Diamond in the first half of a doubleheader Saturday. Andrea Ortega accounted for four of Fresno State's 11 hits. Mackenzie Oakes earned the complete-game win, striking out five over 9.0 innings.
Fresno State 6, San Jose State 1
The Bulldogs struck in each of the first three innings in a 6-1 win over the Spartans in the nightcap. Michelle Moses, Nicole Angene and Brooke Ortiz each had two hits in the win. Moses earned the complete-game win in the circle, striking out seven.
Hawai‘i 4, Louisiana Tech 0
The Rainbow Wahine plated four runs on seven hits in a 4-0 win over Louisiana Tech in the first half of a twinbill Saturday afternoon at the Lady Techster Softball Complex. Kelly Majam was 2-for-5 and drove in one run, while Jenna Rodriguez hit her second homer in as many games, driving in two runs. Kaia Parnaby picked up the complete-game win, striking out 12 and walking three in 7.0 innings.
Louisiana Tech 1, Hawai‘i 0
Janna Frandrup pitched a complete-game shutout and Kendra Harmon hit her first home run of the season to lead Louisiana Tech a 1-0 win over Hawai‘i in the nightcap. In her first start in the circle this year, Frandrup tossed her first career shutout while holding the high-power Hawai‘i offense to only six hits.
Boise State 10, Utah State 1 (6)
The Broncos broke up a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning en
route to a 10-1 six-inning win over Utah State in the first half of a
doubleheader Saturday. Tazz Weatherly was 2-for-2 with three RBI, while
Mackenzie Whyte and Allie Crump each drove in two runs. Aubray Zell
earned the complete-game win, striking out five.
Utah State 7, Boise State 6
Krista Bava singled to left field to plate the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure a 7-6 Utah State win in the nightcap. Kelley Kaneshiro drove in three runs for the Aggies, while Shasta Tyteca had two RBI. Shelby Tyteca earned the win, while Mandy Harmon picked up the save.
