- The No. 12 Fresno State baseball earned its sixth Western Athletic Conference win of the 2011 season after right-hander Greg Gonzalez hurled his first complete game shutout of the season. The Bulldogs won 2-0 over Sacramento State in the first game of the four-game series improving to 6-2 in WAC play and 26-6 on the season.

. - The University of Nevada baseball team (12-20, 1-3 WAC) defeated the New Mexico State Aggies (27-10, 5-4 WAC) 9-0 today in the Wolf Pack's WAC home opener. RHP Tom Jameson (3-4, 5.43 ERA) was dominant through nine shutout innings allowing just five hits on no runs while striking out two New Mexico State (NMSU) hitters.

– The University of Hawai'i baseball team lost Thursday to Valparaiso University, 8-7. The game was the series opener, as Valpo improved to 16-21 with the Rainbows falling to 21-16. Kolten Wong led UH at the plate, batting 4-4 with one run and one RBI. Sean Montplaisir recorded two hits, two runs, and two RBI, and Zach Swasey added two hits, one run, and one RBI.
