2011 WAC Women' Tennis Award Winners Announced

BOISE, Idaho – The Western Athletic Conference 2011 women’s tennis award winners, as selected by the league’s head coaches, were announced tonight at the WAC Tennis Tournament banquet. Fresno State’s Marianne Jodoin was named both WAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, while Boise State head coach Beck Roghaar earned Coach of the Year honors.

Jodoin, who is currently ranked No. 55 nationally, went 21-10 on the season and 15-6 in dual meets. She posted a perfect 5-0 mark vs. WAC opponents and is 4-5 on the season vs. ranked opponents. She was named WAC Player of the Week three times this season. Jodoin also teamed with Laura Pola at No. 1 doubles to post an 8-10 overall record. The pair went 4-0 against WAC opponents.

In his first season at the helm, Roghaar led the Broncos to a 15-7 mark, including a 5-1 record against WAC opponents. With a national ranking of No. 70, Boise State is the top seed in this week’s WAC Tournament.
